Dillon is past president of the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ASHNR) and the American Society of Neuroradiology. In 1992, he was appointed Chief of the the Neuroradiology section UCSF. Dillon received his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and completed his residency at the University of Utah, followed by a fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of California, San Francisco in 1982.
